Deer
Velvet is GOOD for you
...
Building
on 2000 years of traditional medicine, New Zealand
Deer Velvet is emerging as a modern natural dietary
supplement promoting good health with a diverse
range of applications.
Scientific
research is now proving what oriental doctors have
long known ...
Deer velvet is good
for you!
Research
from Russian, Chinese and Korean literature together
with studies presently underway at Ag Research Invermay
near Dunedin indicates that deer velvet and velvet
extracts can help to -
-
stimulate
the immune system as
measured by increased production of white blood
cells. This finding is consistent with the
knowledge of Korean and Chinese scientists.
It also fits well with a major traditional use
for deer velvet in Korea - warding off winter
flu and colds.
-
increase
the red blood cells
(the oxygen carrying cells) in the body and improve
circulation and stamina.
-
work
as a natural anti-inflammatory
both condroitin sulfate and glucosamine sulfate
which are present in velvet are known to help
increase joint fluids or lubricants and repair
cartilage damage.
-
improve
athletic performance
- by assisting with minimising muscle damage when
exercising - by speeding recovery from muscle
tissue damage associated with exercising - by
improving strength and endurance.
In
Asia velvet has traditionally been used as a nourishing
tonic especially before winter, to prevent illness
- this is an essential part of "promoting wellness"
rather than "curing illness".
Velvet's
ability to stimulate and strengthen the immune
system means it could be used both as a preventative
and a supportive treatment. eg. to build up strength
and resilience of patients undergoing cancer treatment
and to help persons recovering from debilitating
illnesses for example Myalgic Encephalitis (M.E.),
and glandular fever.
New
Zealand research to determine whether deer velvet
could improve athletic performance has now shown,
with statistically significant results, that athletes
using velvet extracts had less muscle damage,
recovered faster and therefore could train more
and showed an increased rate of muscle strength
development.
A number
of top New Zealand athletes have reported major
improvement in performance during the period of
time they have been using velvet.
Velvet
users frequently comment on ...improvement
in stamina, relief from arthritis pain (both degenerative
and rheumatoid), relief from asthma symptoms,
a decrease in migraine severity and improvement
in chronic skin problems.

What
is Deer Velvet ? Deer
velvet is antler harvested from male deer at the ideal
growth phase prior to calcification (turning to hard
bone).
Deer
velvet may only be harvested by veterinarians and
certificated farmers using techniques approved by
The Animal Welfare Advisory Committee. The welfare
of stags must be ensured at all times and complete
analgesia (antler desensitisation) used at the time
of removal.
Because
deer velvet is one of the rare mammalian tissues which
regrows each spring, the natural ingredients of this
product are a totally renewable resource.
Oraka Wapiti
Elk Velvet is grown on some of New Zealand's finest
grass pastures here in the Waikato on our own Quality
Assured Deer Park.
Only complete
antlers of the finest quality are used to produce
Oraka Velvet. By using the latest processing
technology available we ensure that the fragile active
ingredients are preserved to produce the most potent
product possible.
Oraka
Wapiti Elk Deer Velvet comes in 250mg capsules with
gelatine capsule shells and contains no preservatives.
